Do Angels Listen The Holy Qur'an?

1 Safar, 1436

Narrated Usaid bin Hudair (RA) that while he was reciting Surat Al-Baqarah at night, and his horse was tied beside him, the horse was suddenly started and trouble.

When he stopped reciting, the horse became quit, and when he started again, the horse was startled again.

Then he stopped reciting and the horse became quit too.

He started reciting again and the horse was startled and trouble once again.

Then he stopped reciting and his son, Yahya was beside the horse.

He was afraid that the horse might trample on him.

When he took the boy away and looked towards the sky, he could not see it.

That morning he informed the Prophet (SAW) who said, "Recite, O Ibn Hudair! O Ibn Hudair!"

Ibn Hudair (RA) replied, "O Allah's Messenger! (SAW) My son Yahya was near the horse and I was afraid that it might trample on him, so I raised my head, and went to him. When I raised my head, and I looked towards the sky, I saw something like a cloud containing what looked like lamps, so I went out in order not to see it"

The Prophet (SAW) said, "Do you know what that was?"

Ibn Hudair (RA) replied, No.

The Prophet (SAW) said, "Those were angels who came hear to you for your voice, and if you had kept on reciting till dawn, they would have remained there till morning when the people would have seen them. They would not have disappeared."

Who Is The Holy Spirit?

9 Muharram, 1436

The names and Roles of some Angels
Only few angels are mentioned by name in the Qu'ran and Sunnah. Others are mentioned either by specific names or by roles or their general nature of serving and worshiping Allah (SWT).

Among those are:

Jibreel (angel Gabriel), This is the most distinguished of the angels, and is intrusted with carrying revelation to the Prophets. This includes briging the Qu'ran to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) which is referred to in the following:

"Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: with it came down the Spirit of Faith and Truth to thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish in clear Arabic tongue."
(Sura Al-Shu'ara', 26:192-195)

Angel Jibreel is also called "the Holy Spirit" as mentioned in the Qu'ran

"Those Messengers we endowed with gifts, some above others: To one of them Allah spoke; others He raised to degrees (of honour); to Jesus, the son of Mary, we gave Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit. If Allah had so willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among each others, after clear (signs) had come to them but they (chose) to wrangle, some believing and others rejecting. If Allah had so willed, they would not have fought each other; but Allah fulfilleth His  plan."
(Sura Al-Baqarah, 2:253)

What Is The Nature Of The Angels?

8 Muharram, 1436

The Nature of Angels

Angels are being created from light:

Aisha, radhiallahu anha, narrated: that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhe wa sallam said: "Angels were created from light, Jinn were created from smokeless fire, and Adam was created from that which has been described to you [in the Qur'an and Sunnah], (Related by Muslim).

They do not have to desires of their own, neither do they eat or drink, They are honored servants of Allah (SWT) and never disobey Him.

They are perpetually in His service, in prostration, in a standing posture, or through various other forms of worship.

Allah says: And those who are before Him are not scornful of worshiping Him, nor do they tired or get bored. They glorify Him night and day; they do not halt"
(Sura Al-Anbiya, 21:19-20)

They are honored servants, who do not precede Him in speech, and they act according to His command. "He knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, and they do not intercede, except for those whom He approves"
(Sura Al-Anbiya, 21:26-27)

Angels are also described as having wings:

"Praise be to Allah, the originator of the heavens and the earth, the creator of angels having wings two, three or four.
(Sura Fatir, 35:1)

However, we should not try to guess the nature or form of these wings.
Certainly, there in no basis in Islam for the corrupt notion prevalent in the West, that angels are like beautiful little girls with a pair of wings on there backs.

We should be careful that our children are not exposed to those books which contain such misleading pictures, so that they do not grow up with an incorrect concept of angels.

The angels do not have gender. They also do not procreate, Allah has denounced those who regard them as females. Indeed, to do so is the way of the believers. "Those who do not believe in the Hereafter surely call the angels with female appellations"
(Sura Al-najam, 53:27)

How To Pay Zakat?

7 Muharram, 1436

Every Muslim obliged to pay minimum 2.5% of their overall income to help the needy and support the community. To strengthens the love between the poor and rich.

May Allah Almighty accept their intention and be abundant of blessing to help the needy...

VIRTUES OF ZAKAT:
Allah says in the Quran:
"The parable of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn. It grows seven ears and each ear has hundred grains. Allah increases manifold to whom He pleases."
Al Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:261
It is stated in the Hadith that by giving Zakat the following benefits are derived:
  1. Gain the pleasure of Allah.
  2. Increase in wealth and protection from losses.
  3. Allah's forgiveness and blessings.
  4. Protection from the wrath of Allah and from a bad death.
  5. A shelter on the Day of Judgment;
  6. Security from seventy misfortunes.

Can Angels be seen?

7 Muharram, 1436

Prophets can see angels is their natural form.
Al-Bukhari recorded that 'Aishah narrated that the Prophet (SAW) saw angel Jibreel twice in his natural form.

However, ordinary people (i.e., non Prophets) cannot see them unless they (angels) take on a visible form. Angels can indeed take a material form, such as that of a handsome man. An example of this is found in the Quran where Allah sent angels to give Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) (AW) glad tidings of a son, and then to assist the prophet Lut (LOT) (AW). Lut people, being homosexuals, lusted after these angels, but Allah destroyed the depraved sinners.

Allah says: salam (i.e., greetings of peace) He answered! "salam"   See Sura Hud, 11:69-83

Also in the Qu'ran, there is an the incident in which angel Jibreel came to Maryam (Mary) the mother of Isa (Jesus) (AW) to inform her that she would miraculously give birth to 'Isa (Jesus)
Allah says: "Then we sent to her our spirit (angel Jibreel) and He appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.  (Sura Maryam, 19:17-21)

Lastly, there is the famous "Hadith Jibreel" related by Muslim, in which angel Jibreel came to the Prophet (SAW)in the form of a man, and asked him about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan.

This was done in public view, and its purpose was the teach the people about their religion.

What Is Zakat?

6 Muharram, 1436

The word Zakat means both 'purification' and 'growth'. Our possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need, and, like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth.

Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, mentally stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay to support specific categories people.

This category of people is defined in surah at-Taubah (9) verse 60: "The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is knower, Wise."
[The Holy Qur'an, Surah At-Taubah,  9:60].

What Is The Punishment For Not Giving Zakat?

6 Muharram, 1436

THE PUNISHMENT FOR NOT GIVING ZAKAT:

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

The obligatory nature of Zakat is firmly established in the Qur'an, the Sunnah (or hadith), and the consensus of the companions and the Muslim scholars. Allah states in Surah at-Taubah verses 34-35:
"O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites, who in Falsehood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah. announce unto them a most grievous penalty

On the Day when heat will be produced out of that (wealth) in the fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, their flanks, and their backs.- "This is the (treasure) which ye buried for yourselves: taste ye, then, the (treasures) ye buried!"
[The Holy Qur'an, Surah At-Taubah,  9:34-35].

Are There Other Gods besides Allah?

5 Muharram,1436

"No son did Allah beget, nor is there any God along with Him: if there were many Gods, behold, each God would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lauded it over others! Glory to Allah! (he is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him! He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him!"
Surah Al-Mu'minun, 23:91-92

Does Allah have a son or a daughter?

5 Muharram, 1436

"And they falsely, having no knowledge, attribute to Him sons and daughters, praise and glory be to Him! (for He is) above what they attribute to Him!"
Surah Al-An'aam, 6:100

Is Allah a part of a Trinity?

4 Muharram, 1436

"They disbelieve who say: Allah is one of three (in a Trinity): for there is No God except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous chastisement will befall the disbelievers among them."
Surah Al-Maa'ida, 5:72

This message is imposed directly to disbeliever,  especially for those people of the book who don't believe the existence of the oneness of God,

Does Allah Have A Partner?

4 Muharram, 1436

"Say: 'Praise be to Allah, Who begets no son, and has no partner in (his) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: Yes, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!"
Surah Banee Israeel, 17:111

Who Is Allah?

3 Muharram, 1436

"Allah! There is no God but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Supporter of all, no slumber can seize Him nor sleep, His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permits? He knows what (appears to His creatures as) before or after or behind them.
Nor shall they compass anything of His knowledge except as He wills. His Throne does extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feel No fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory)."
Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255

How Allah Created Adam?

3 Muharram, 1436

Adam, in other words man, was created from dust as is evident from the following verse:

"When your Lord said to the angels: Surely, I am going to create a mortal (Bashar) from dust"
Surah Sad, 38:71

" O mankind We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (Out Power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach age of full strength; and some of you called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much). And (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it wells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth in pairs."
Surah Al hajj, 22:5

They are a lot of evidence in the Qur'an! the creation of human being or the first person here on earth, everybody knows that is Adam and Eve. If we understand that God made a statue of man of the potter's clay and by breathing into His spirit turned into a living man.

Under this law of evolution the Qur'an describes the creation of man in the following words:

"And certainly We created man of an extract of clay; then We placed him in a drop of sperm in a place in a rest firmly fixed; then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of the clot We made a lump (fetus); then We make out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then We developed out of it another creature. So, blessed be Allah the best to create"
Surah Al-Mu'minun, 23:12-14

Breathing of Divine Spirit

"So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him"
Sura Al-Hijr, 15:29

"Behold! Your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust. When I have made him complete and breathed into My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance to him."
Surah Sad, 38:71-72

The Divine spirit is breathed into man after he has been made physically complete. It means he has been endowed with the faculty of God-like knowledge and the power to discriminate between good and evil and a will of choose, which, if rightly used elevates him to the exalted office of the vicegerent of God on earth, to whom all the forces of nature are made subservient.

What Will Ye Worship After Me?

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only,
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not,

Sura Al-Baqarah, 2:136

There ye witnesses when death appeared before Jacob? behold, he said to his sons! "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship thy God and the God of thy fathers, of Abraham, Ismail and Isaac, the One (True) God: To Him we bow (in Islam)."
Sura Al-Baqarah, 2:133

They say:

To Him belongs all
That is in heavens
And on earth:
Everything
Renders worship to Him.

What Is Love?

Love is when Khadijah (RA) spent her entire wealth on this Deen (Islam) for the man she loved.

Love is when Mohammad (SAW) took the glass that Ayesha (RA) drank from and put his lips on the exact place she put her on then drank.

Love is when Muhammad (SAW) had a race with Ayesha (RA) and teased her when she lost.

Love is when Zainab (RA) would sacrifice her  most prized possession, her everything for her husband.

Real love is not based on romance, candle light dinner and giving gifts, rather it is based on respect, Care, Compromise, and trust.

What is Hijab?

Hijab - is a piece of cloth used to cover the head of a Muslim Woman Is also called "Khumur".
Khumur is the plural of Arabic word "Khimar", which means head cover. This means that the head cover should be drawn over the neck and to be extended so as to cover the bosom.

It was stated on the Holy Qur'an that the believing woman should wear hijab to protect modesty and purity, and should no be molested.

"And say to the believing woman, that they lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husband sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right posses, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And Oh ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss."
[Surah Al-Nur, 4:31]

"O Prophet! tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing woman, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
[Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:59]

Prohpet Muhammad (SAW) say:
"If the woman reaches the age of puberty, no (parts of her body) should be seen but this - and he pointed to his face and hands."

All parts of a woman's body is "Awrah" It should be covered all the time. "Awrah" refers to the part of the body that should be cover at all time unless there is an excemption. The covering of "Awrah" is also a condition for the validity of prayers.

What Is Hijab?

Hijab refers to both the head covering traditionally worn by
Muslim women and modest Muslim styles of dress in general.

Most Islamic legal systems define this type of modest dressing
As covering everything except the face and hands in public.

According to Islamic scholarship, hijab is given the wider
Meaning of modesty, privacy, and morality;

The words for a headscarf or veil used in the
Qur'an are khimār (خمار) and Jilbaab(جلباب), not hijab.
Still another definition is metaphysical, where al-hijab refers
To "the veil which separates man or the world from God.

Modesty - is the crown of a Muslimah, which is Hijab forces a man to look at a woman with respect rather than as an object

What Is Jihad?

Jihad - Is to fight back, (i.e. striving for Allah's Cause) with one's wealth and one's soul is a sign of loving Allah and His Apostle. Fight back- for me, means to take the form of controlling oneself and one's desire, so that one avoids what is prohibited by Allah.

Praise be to Allah (SWT) who has ordained "Al-Jihad" (Fighting for Allah's Cause)
  1. With the heart (intentions or feelings),
  2. With the hand (weapons etc.)
  3. With the tongue (speeches etc., in the cause of Allah) and has rewarded the one who performs it with the high rooms in the gardens (of Paradise).
